How to Clean Thumbnail in WordPress-: Are looking to clean unused thumbnail size if yes then stay tuned with this post. Thumbnail has a very important role in WordPress Theme. Thumbnail size is defined in Theme and you can change it as per your need.

When we upload images on our WordPress Media folder, WordPress creates a thumbnail as defined in WordPress setting. To change Thumbnail size, go to setting >>Media. If you change your thumbnail size in WordPress, you must regenerate Thumbnail size again in WordPress.

You can do this using Regenerate Thumbnail Plugin for WordPress. Recently my theme thumbnail was not looking good, so I change my thumbnail size in my Function.php file and I regenerated the thumbnail. This step increased my database size because there is no use of an old thumbnail. In this post, I will explain how to delete an old thumbnail in your WordPress website.

  • Step.1-: First steps is taking the backup, once you click on backup it creates a zipped archive of your uploads directory and saves it in wp-content/backups/thumbnail-cleaner/.

Step.2-: Now click on Start Analyzing it will tell you the size of thumbnail either you can delete all thumbnail or on date.
Step.3-: Once you deleted all the thumbnail now it is time to regenerate thumbnail you must have thumbnail generator plugin to create a fresh thumbnail.
